Life for a BAMS student in a private Ayurvedic medical college in Maharashtra is academically engaging and focused on building a strong foundation in Ayurveda along with modern medical sciences. In the initial years, students transition from school-level science to a detailed curriculum covering subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry along with the core principles of Ayurveda and classical Ayurvedic texts, spending long hours in lectures, laboratories, and practical sessions to understand the human body from both modern and Ayurvedic perspectives. As they progress through the course, the focus gradually shifts to professional subjects like Dravyaguna, Roga Nidana, Rasashastra, Panchakarma, and Kayachikitsa, along with increasing clinical exposure through patient observation, case discussions, and practical training in Ayurvedic OPD and hospital wards, helping them connect traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with real patient care. Daily life usually revolves around a structured routine of classes, practical sessions, clinical postings, and exam preparation, often balanced with hostel life, peer study groups, and participation in seminars, medical camps, cultural festivals, and sports activities that contribute to a balanced campus experience.
