Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University is one of Russia’s greatest universities. The Yaroslav-the-Hungarian Pedagogical Institute and the Polytechnic Institute of Veliky Novgorod, which were Veliky Novgorod’s two oldest higher education institutions, merged in 1993 to form the present-day Wise Novgorod State University, which is also referred to informally as NovSU.
